Matilda – nostalgic moment

matilda-sep-2016Thirty-four years today since her debut at the Commonwealth Games Matilda is now located at the rear of the Kybong Puma Service Station just south of Gympie. For a number of years after the games she was at Wet’n’Wild before being acquired by Matilda Fuel Supplies who named their business after her when they formed in 1982.

Fast forward to the 2018 Games – 16.07hrs Friday 30 March 2015, Jephson Street, Toowong. Olympic and Commonwealth swimmer and medal winner Hayley Lewis carrying the Queen’s Baton. She was one of the thirty five baton bearers who covered the Toowong to Sherwood Arboretum leg of its journey
